When the user sees it
After signing in and verifying their identity, and before the first purchase or sale. Every time a user is about to operate, the widget checks their profile:
A profile is valid for one year. Answering again — to renew, or after it expired — starts a new year.
What the user goes through
1
An introduction
Explains that Brazilian regulation requires Ripio to know their risk profile before they operate with virtual assets, and — when it applies — until when they can postpone it.
2
Five questions, one per screen
About their experience with virtual assets, investment goals and horizon, how they would react to a drop, and how much of their savings they plan to invest. One answer per question, with a step counter and the option to go back.
3
Their result
The user sees their profile — Conservative, Moderate or Aggressive (Conservador, Moderado, Arrojado) — with a short description, and continues to the operation they were starting.
If the profile expires mid-way
A user who opened the widget with a valid profile may see it expire before they confirm. In that case the operation is not created: the widget asks them to complete the questionnaire, and after they answer it retries the operation on its own, with nothing to start over. What your backend does
Nothing. There is no event for the investor profile, and no call for you to make. If you also integrate the API, Investor Profile (Brazil) describes the same rules from that side. The investor profile is enabled by Ripio per account, and your widget and API integrations use different accounts. If you operate in Brazil through both, make sure it is enabled for both.
