# wFiat stablecoins

> Ripio's wFiat stablecoins are fully collateralized tokens pegged 1:1 to Latin American currencies: wARS, wBRL, wMXN, wCOP, wPEN and wCLP.

Ripio's **wFiat** stablecoins are fully collateralized tokens pegged 1:1 to Latin American currencies. Issued and governed by a Ripio subsidiary, they bring local currencies on-chain so people and businesses can hold, send, pay and build in their own unit of account, without converting to USD.

On EVM chains, all tokens are standard ERC-20s with **18 decimals**, and each one uses the same contract address on every chain where it's deployed. On **Tempo** they follow Tempo's native [TIP-20](https://tempo.xyz/developers/docs/protocol/tip20/overview) standard, with **6 decimals** and different addresses. See [Contracts](https://docs.ripio.com/wfiat/contracts.md) for the full list of addresses and networks.

## What you can use them for

* **Hold and save in local currency.** Keep a balance in ARS, BRL, MXN, COP, PEN or CLP on-chain, without converting to USD.
* **Payments and transfers.** Send instant, low-cost transfers between wallets, or pay merchants and peers.
* **FX and remittances.** Move value on-chain in local stablecoins and swap only at the endpoints.
* **DeFi.** Trade, provide liquidity, or use them as collateral on networks such as Ethereum, Base, World Chain, Polygon, BNB Smart Chain and Gnosis.
* **Treasury.** Manage local-currency treasury and rebalancing for your business.

## How to get wFiat

### Buy them yourself

> **[ramp.ripio.com](https://ramp.ripio.com)**
>
> If you live in one of the countries of the wFiat currencies, buy and sell them with a local payment method. It's the commercial demo of our Ramps product.

> **[Uniswap](https://app.uniswap.org/explore/tokens/ethereum/0x0DC4F92879B7670e5f4e4e6e3c801D229129D90D?chain=multichain)**
>
> Swap wFiat on-chain on most of the chains where they're deployed. The link opens wARS as an example.

### Offer them to your users

> **[Ramps](https://docs.ripio.com/ramps-api/overview/introduction.md)**
>
> Your users pay in local currency and receive wFiat at their wallet, or send wFiat and get paid out to their bank account.

> **[Crypto as a Service](https://docs.ripio.com/crypto-as-a-service/overview/introduction.md)**
>
> Your users buy, sell and hold wFiat in a crypto account inside your product.

> **[OTC](mailto:b2b@ripio.com)**
>
> For larger volumes, cross-border flows and treasury operations, contact the team to operate OTC.

## Move them between chains

The [Ripio Bridge](https://docs.ripio.com/wfiat/bridge.md) moves wFiat between supported chains with a burn-and-mint model and a single contract call. You can also use it from the web at [bridge.ripio.com](https://bridge.ripio.com).
